If Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head I Use An Umbrella, Otherwise...

It snowed here today and I noticed something that I've never realized before. Here in New York, people will actually use umbrellas for snow. Is it me or is that odd?

I, to this very day, think that is the oddest thing about the entire city. Rats in the subway - fine. A hamburger cost $13 - fine. New Jersey is way too close - fine. Taxi cabs do not obey traffic laws - fine.

Using an umbrella to protect yourself from snow - UNACCEPTABLE!

In fact, no umbrellas at all. I say, new law: no umbrellas on any city streets ever.
1. People walking with umbrellas cannot see. This is a major problem when I am walking toward you and you have eight or more metal sticks pointed right at my eye. Quit looking at the damn puddle, lift up the umbrella and watch out for my face. I am using these eyes and deserve to keep them.
2. The flipping factor. If you cannot position an umbrella against a gust of wind, then you have no business holding it. The wind is blowing, you idiot. Turn the umbrella toward the wind. I'm tired of walking behind you, the wind comes and you lift the umbrella up (perhaps because you can't see?), it flips (like you didn't see that coming), now you've sprayed me with your umbrella sweat and then you spin around surprised at this unexpected event with these eye-pokers directed at my face. You are too stupid to hold that dangerous object.
3. Shaking off. Do not come into the coffee shop and shake off your umbrella spraying water everywhere. This isn't a bathroom. This isn't your house. And you just shook off your rain water on my pants. Look, when the only open table in the coffe shop was right by the door and I took it, I was concerned about the drafts. So kept my sweater on - problem solved. I didn't think I needed to bring my yellow rain pants to protect myself from your inconsiderate umbrella shaking. Get a clue.
I don't like anything to do with umbrellas.
